Who is this?

Born in 1996, should have been born in 1969. The days where Blues was coming in fast and strong into more mainstream music and where country music was not yet dominated by Nashville with its mechanical/corrupted/standardised/… performers  like Garth Brooks or Taylor Swift (I refuse to use the word “artist”). I might sound like a cantankerous music elitist, but trust me, I just like music sung with emotion and with a story behind it (being able to sing along to it also gives it a few extra brownie points).

Unlike many people who love country or blues music, I did not develop a love for this music genre because my parents or grand-parents ceaselessly played it all day and night. Instead, I slowly discovered these music styles on my own, mainly thanks to one musical isntrument: the harmonica. For some years I had the desire to learn how to play a musical instrument, so the thought of a harmonica came naturally. A sound choice really, as it is a very cheap, portable and also good sounding instrument to play. But as a direct consequence, as the harp is often seen as the Blues instrument, I started a long journey into this genre, and as the word “Blues” is also a favourite for country artists, my destiny as a country and blues fan was decided (maybe it wasn’t quite as spiritual).

What makes me qualified to talk about music? Nothing.
